As a creative collaboration, National Public Radio invited its listeners to contribute photos they took of nature reclaiming the earth. The result was an engaging exploration of natural forces overtaking man-made constructions. Some submissions focused on animals, like fish swimming within a submerged grocery cart or coyotes stalking through developed suburban neighborhoods. Others examined plant defenses – tree roots wrapping around bicycles and devouring street signs.
This project is a beautiful clash between natural and artificial. In their fight, they are entwined together, inhabiting the same space. The powerful images show nature’s resilience in reclaiming what was once solely theirs.
